Bellevue Arts MuseumEmerge/Evolve 2014: Rising Talents in Kiln-Glass
February 20 - June 14, 2015
The Bullseye Glass Company started the Emerge competition twelve years ago as a commitment to emerging artists working in kiln-formed glass. Emerge/Evolve 2014 features finalists from the Emerge 2014 competition alongside new work from former Emerge finalists showcasing the evolution of their talent. The exhibition will culminate its national tour at Bellevue Arts Museum, with an expanded edition that will include enlarged installations, additional works by selected artists, and a program of lectures and workshops. - See more at: http://www.bellevuearts.org/exhibitions/emerge_evolve_2014.html#sthash.8srOJE5L.dpuf

American Art Collector February 2014 issue 112I'm part of the article about the Emerge/Evolve 2014 last stop at the Bellevue Art Museum (B.A.M.). The article asked a few questions about our piece in the show, and the inspiration behind it.
Award
Honorable Mention Emerge 2014I recieved honorable mention in Bullseye Glass Emerge 2014, chosen by juror Emily Nachison. Emily said, "The work is about weight and scale and references an industrial material.....maybe another sculptural material in a different way than I am used to seeing glass. Instead of being about fragility and transparency, it's about making and materiality." I must say, spot on!
As part of this honor I will be included in a traveling exhibition that will make stops at:
Bullseye Resource Center Bay Area
Pittsburgh Glass Center
Bellevue Arts Museum

Publication
New Glass ReviewI'm honored to announce that one of my pieces will be included in New Glass Review 34.
Published by The Corning Museum of Glass, New Glass Review is an annual survey of glass in contemporary art, architecture, craft, and design created in the previous year by emerging and established artists, as well as students. The works are chosen by a changing jury of curators, artists, designers, art dealers, and critics.
This year 1010 artist and companies from 48 countries sent 2,973 images of their work for consideration. The jury selected 100 pieces to be published in the Review.
Again, I'm totally honored and excited. Look for it hot off the press in May.
